Consistent with California Government Code Section 54953 a meeting of the Land Use & Natural Resources Committee will be held in person.

Comments will be taken on the item at the time it is taken up by the committee.  Members of the public can participate in the meeting via written or verbal comments as described below.

Public comment may be made in person at SACOG’s offices or at an alternative meeting location designated on the agenda (if any). You will have 3:00 minutes to speak, unless a different time is set by the Chair.  Please complete a speaker form and provide it to the clerk.  If attending at an alternative meeting location, please inform a SACOG official in attendance that you request to speak.
• Written comments
May be submitted via email to the clerk at [email protected].  Comments requested to be read at the meeting will be limited to 250 words.  Comments requested to be distributed to the committee members will be shared with members if they are received at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.  Otherwise, they will be shared after the meeting. Any writings or documents provided to a majority of this committee regarding any item on this agenda (other than writings legally exempt from public disclosure) are available on SACOG’s website:  www.sacog.org/meetings/meetings-agenda (click on the three blue dots icon next to the name of the meeting – documents will be posted as handouts).

  • A written record of the minutes of the February 1, 2024, meeting.

Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Application: Grant Support and Subrecipient Commitment (Garett Ballard-Rosa) (Est. Time: 5 minutes)
  • The federal Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program is making $4.6 billion available in implementation grant funding through a competitive application process. The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is leading a CPRG grant proposal on behalf of the region, which has identified Green Means Go as one of the proposed grant activities.

Coordinated Rural Opportunities Plan and Board Workshop Set-up (Garett Ballard-Rosa) (Est. Time: 30 minutes)
  • SACOG is wrapping up work on the Coordinated Rural Opportunities Plan (CROP), a Department of Conservation funded effort to highlight promising strategies and infrastructure needs to support the regional agricultural economy. In this presentation, the committee will hear from partner Valley Vision around CROP framing and themes, while Jim Durst of Durst Organic Growers will discuss the Yolo Food Hub as a real-life example of food system infrastructure. The item will also help frame the board’s March workshop in Woodland.

2025 Blueprint: Housing Product Type Demand Trends (Dov Kadin) (Est. Time: 35 minutes)
  • The purpose of this item is to explore emerging trends in the demand for various housing products within the SACOG region and as compared to other mid-sized regions throughout the country. This work is in response to board questions and requests to take a deeper look at housing type preferences and how those preferences may influence land use assumptions in the 2025 Blueprint.
     
5.
Phase One 2025 Blueprint Outreach Results and Principles (Hannah Tschudin) (Est. Time: 20 minutes)
  • The collection and compilation of results from the Phase 1 outreach and engagement effort for the 2025 Blueprint was completed at the end of 2023. Seven key principles have emerged from the Phase 1 outreach and engagement activities.
